The problem we saw
Valet trash serves millions of apartment residents every night, and property managers count on it as a revenue-driving amenity. But the industry runs on duct tape. Most operators manage routes with spreadsheets, communicate with porters through WhatsApp, and generate reports by hand — if they generate them at all. Property managers have no visibility into whether service actually happened. And porters, the people doing the hardest work, get the worst tools.
We built Doorstep One to change that: a single platform that replaces fragmented tools with photo-verified service, automated reporting, and a purpose-built porter app that actually works in the field.
Doorstep One, LLC is an Atlanta-based software company founded in 2026. Its operating platform for independent valet-trash teams and the property managers they serve was conceived, designed, and engineered by Black Airplane, a U.S.-based product strategy, design, and software engineering team.
