Doorstep One, Inc. ("Doorstep One," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Doorstep One platform, including our web application, mobile application ("Porter App"), and website at doorstep.one (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and password when you create an account or are invited by your employer.
  • Organization Information: Company name, business address, and billing information for organization owners and administrators.
  • Communication Data: Information you provide when contacting our support team, submitting forms, or participating in surveys.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Precise Location Data:GPS coordinates collected during active route execution in the Porter App. Location tracking begins only when a porter taps "Start Route" and stops automatically when the route is completed. There is no always-on or background tracking outside of active routes.
  • Photos: Images captured through the Porter App for service documentation, including route check photos and violation evidence photos. Photos are taken only during active route execution.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers.
  • Usage Data: App interaction data, feature usage patterns, page views, and session information.
  • Crash and Performance Data: Crash logs, performance metrics, and diagnostic information to maintain and improve the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Route Verification: Location data is used to verify route coverage for your employer and ensure service completion at each assigned property.
  • Service Documentation: Photos are used to provide timestamped, GPS-tagged evidence of service completion and violation documentation for property managers.
  • Account Management: To create, maintain, and secure your account and provide access to the appropriate features based on your role.
  • Communications: To send service-related communications about route assignments, schedule updates, and alerts.
  • Analytics and Improvement: To analyze usage patterns, diagnose technical issues, and improve the Service.
  • Reporting: To generate automated reports for organization administrators and property managers, including route completion data, violation summaries, and performance metrics.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share your information in the following circumstances:

  • With Your Employer: If you are a porter or supervisor, your location tracks, route completion data, photos, and performance metrics are shared with your employer organization through the platform. This is a core function of the Service.
  • With Property Managers: Route completion data, violation photos, and service reports are shared with the property managers who contracted the valet trash service.
  • Service Providers:
    • Firebase (Google): For analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, and performance monitoring.
    • Cloud Infrastructure: For hosting, data storage, and processing.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising or cross-app tracking.

4. Data Retention

  • Location Data: Route GPS tracks are retained for 90 days for operational purposes, then archived for up to 2 years for compliance and dispute resolution.
  • Photos: Service and violation photos are retained for the duration of the property contract plus 1 year.
  • Account Data:Retained for as long as your account is active or as required by your employer's contractual obligations with Doorstep One.
  • Crash and Analytics Data: Retained for up to 24 months.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Deletion:Request deletion of your personal data, subject to your employer's policies and contractual requirements.
  • Data Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.

6. Account Management

Accounts on the Doorstep One platform are created and managed by your employer or organization administrator. Because accounts are tied to your employer's organization, individual users cannot independently delete their accounts. If you have questions about your account status, please contact your employer or reach out to us at talk@doorstep.one.

When an employer terminates their contract with Doorstep One, account data associated with that organization will be handled in accordance with the terms of that contract.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256), role-based access controls, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers and service providers are located. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
